About W&RSETA
The Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) is one of the 21 SETAs that were founded in the year 2000. W&RSETA aims to improve the skills development needs of the Wholesale and Retail (W&R) industries through educational programmes and training administration in accordance to the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS).
W&RSETA Bursaries
The W&RSETA has a strategic objective to support undergraduate students who wish to pursue studies that are Wholesale and Retail Sector through awarding of bursaries. The bursary covers up to a maximum of R65000 for University and R45000 for TVET Colleges which includes registration and tuition fees, meal and book allowance as well as school accommodation costs.
Students who are accepted or registered in any one of the following approved fields of study qualify for the bursary scheme:

- Sales and Marketing Management
- Accounting
- Financial Management
- Information Technology / Computer Science
- Food Technology / Nutrition
TVET Colleges (National Accredited Technical Education Diploma)
- Business Management
- Financial Management
- Marketing Management
- Human Resource Management
- Management Assistant
- Hospitality and Catering Services
TVET Colleges (National Certificate Vocational)
- Finance, Economics & Accounting
- Marketing
- Information Technology & Computer Science
- Office Administration
- Hospitality
- Transport and Logistics
To know the guidelines of the W&R SETA Bursary:
W&RSETA Bursary Requirements and Eligibility
- Registered at a South African public university or TVET Colleges
- Students for any of programmes listed above
- South African citizen
- Applicants with proven financial need and good academic potential will be prioritized
- Applicants should not have other sources of education funding

- Certified Copy of South African ID
- Academic record
- Proof of acceptance at University or TVET College
- Statement of fees
- Proof of accommodation, if applicable
