Agogo Presbyterian College of Education Admission Requirement for admission are as follows:

WASSCE /SSSCE Qualification Applicants

The general requirement for admission to the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Programme is as follows:

  1. WASSCE Holders: CREDIT (A1-C6) in Six (6) subjects comprising Three(3) Core subjects, including English Language and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
  2. SSSCE Holders: CREDIT (A-D) in Six (6) subjects comprising Three (3) Core subjects, including English Language and Core Mathematics, and Three(3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study
  3. Holders of TVET Qualifications: CREDIT in Three Core Subjects including English and Mathematics and PASSES in Three Elective Subjects relevant to the course of study.
  4. Candidates awaiting the MAY/JUNE, 2018 WASSCE and NABPTEX RESULTS can also apply.

Agogo Presbyterian College of Education Admission Form Application Details – Below is how to apply for Agogo Presbyterian College of Education Admission

Applicants will first make a payment of One Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (GHC 150.00) into the Colleges of Education- Ghana Account at any branch of the following bank nationwide:

  1. uniBank Ghana Ltd.
  2. ii) Additionally, payment can also be made through mobile money wallet: Tigo Cash, Airtel Money or MTN Mobile Money by dialling short code *924*8# from all networks.
  3. Upon payment, applicants will be given the following information:
    1. A Personal Identification Number (PIN).
    2. An Admission Application Serial Number.
    3. The Agogo Presbyterian College of Education Admission Portal Address- coeportal.edu.gh
  4. With this PIN, applicants will then visit the Colleges of Education admission website: coeportal.edu.gh and follow specific guidelines to fill the online application form.

NOTES

  1. Applicants are advised to read and to ensure they fully understand all related instructions for completing the application form.
  2. Applicants are to note that application forms not properly completed will not be processed.
  3. After completing the online application form, an applicant will need to print a copy which should be sent with one passport photograph and a copy/copies of their results slip (where available) EMS priority envelope obtainable from Ghana Post nationwide and addressed to The Principal of the COLLEGE chosen.
  4. Applicants will be notified of the receipt of their applications by SMS (text message) and should, therefore, provide correct and reliable cell phone numbers when completing the form online.
  5. Applicants will also receive admission offer notifications by SMS and those who do not receive such notifications may understand it to mean that their applications were not successful.
  6. Applicants are to note that the Colleges will cross-check their results from the West African Examinations Council as part of the admission process. Applicants found to have submitted fake or falsified documents in support of their applications will be made to face the legal consequences of their actions.

Agogo Presbyterian College of Education is a teacher education college in Agogo (Ashanti-Akin North Municipal DistrictAshanti RegionGhana). The college is located in Ashanti / Brong Ahafo zone. It is one of the about 40 public colleges of education in Ghana. The college participated in the DFID-funded T-TEL programme. It was established in 1931 by the Basel Mission with the aim of training women teachers for the Girls Middle School. History

Agogo Presbyterian Women’s College of Education (Basel Mission Women’s Training College) was founded in1931, by the Basel Mission. The first principal of the college was Miss Helena Schlatter. She worked with Rev. Buechner and Miss Gertrude Goetz in the pioneering days of the college. The college was established to train Ghanaian women teachers for the Girls Middle School which was opened in 1931. The women teachers were trained not only to become good teachers, but good parents and leaders in society. The students were subjected to proverbial ‘Presbyterian Discipline’ to ensure that high academic and moral standards were set and maintained. In 1942, during the World War II, the military took over the college which rendered the students being sent to Akropong Seminary to continue their course. They were brought back in 1943. In 1950, the Presbyterian Church took over the college, and renamed it Agogo Presbyterian Women’s Training College. The college offered the following programmes to produce the type of teachers the country needed for the basic school:

  •       Post ‘B’ course
  •     Post-Secondary course
